FINDING BALANCE BETWEEN SEX & TESTING

11/08/20

Everyone has to find their own sex and HIV testing balance based on activity.  If you’re gay, bi or trans – there’s an increased risk for HIV, so you want to keep up with a testing routine.  If you’re kickin’ it with multiple people, you’ll want to beef-up your testing to every 3-6 months depending on how active you are.  But if you’re as dry as an Arizona desert, testing can be throttled back to every 12 months.  If you’re in a monogamous relationship, but are gay, bi or trans, keep up the testing routine at least once a year.  We don’t often like to talk about it, but some studies have shown that up to 1/3 of the people who test positive for HIV report being in a “monogamous” relationship.  No shade, just facts!  Get tested!
